Visions & Trances in the Scriptures

VISIONS

“At about three in the afternoon he distinctly saw in a vision an angel of God who came in and said to him, “Cornelius!” Acts 10:3 (HCSB)

“That night God spoke to Israel in a vision: “Jacob, Jacob!” He said. And Jacob replied, “Here I am.” Genesis 46:2 (HCSB)

“After this I will pour out My Spirit on all humanity; then your sons and your daughters will prophesy, your old men will have dreams, and your young men will see visions.” Joel 2:28 (HCSB)

“When the day of Pentecost had arrived, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like that of a violent rushing wind came from heaven, and it filled the whole house where they were staying. And tongues, like flames of fire that were divided, appeared to them and rested on each one of them. Then they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak in different languages, as the Spirit gave them ability for speech. Cretans and Arabswe hear them speaking in our own languages the magnificent acts of God. For these people are not drunk, as you suppose, since it’s only nine in the morning. Israel’s false prophets were condemned because the visions did not come from Yahweh at Do not turn to mediums or consult spiritists, or you will be defiled by them; I am the LORD your God.” Lev 19:31 (HCSB)

To be “defiled by them” is to be misled by those that serve the Dragon, (Dawn, Lucifer, The Serpent, Satan the Devil). This does not include those psychics that serve Yahweh. There is a difference as the above Scriptures have pointed out. It is a balance of who is receiving and revealing inspired psychic visions and dreams. If the psychic experience is not from the Holy side, then there is only one other side left that it could be coming from. So, you should follow the advice given at: “Now the Spirit explicitly says that in the latter times some will depart from the faith, paying attention to deceitful spirits and the teachings of demons, through the hypocrisy of liars whose consciences are seared.” 1 Timothy 4:1-2 (HCSB)

TRANCES

“After I came back to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple complex, I went into a visionary state and saw Him telling me, ‘Hurry and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about Me!’ Acts 22:17-18 (HCSB)
